Susan MacDonald Roddey Susan is a graduate of Davidson College and was awarded her Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary. Susan was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in February, 1991. She was Associate Pastor at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill from 1992-1997, pastoral counselor at Presbyterian Samaritan Counseling Center in Charlotte from 1997-2003, and Associate Minister for Pastoral Care and Congregational Life at First Presbyterian Church, Charlotte from 2004 until June of 2007. Earning over 70 credit hours through a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology program, Susan completed her doctoral work through Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, where she was awarded a Doctor of Ministry degree, with a specialization in pastoral counseling. Susan is a Certified North Carolina Fee-Based Practicing Pastoral Counselor and a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. Susans areas of interest and experience in pastoral counseling include marital therapy; counseling with those going through separation and divorce; individual therapy with those struggling with depression, anxiety, and issues of loss and grief; women navigating the developmental stages of young adulthood, middle age, and later years; and individuals dealing with life transitions. She also welcomes working with teenagers and frequently seeks to do so in conjunction with school psychologists and counselors. According to the persons desire, Susan enjoys working with clients who want to gain an understanding of their problems and find healing through both the lens of faith and psychology, and with clients who seek to utilize writing and art as a way to express themselves. |
