Richard Carter Richard Carter, M.Div., is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), and currently serves the mission of the church as an Advanced Resident Clinical Pastoral Therapist with the Presbyterian Samaritan Counseling Center (PSCC) of Charlotte, North Carolina. He received his Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and is completing a Doctorate of Ministry program through the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Carter joined the PSCC staff after completing a two year study in Clinical Pastoral Therapy through the Carolina Institute for Clinical Pastoral Training (CICPT) in Charlotte, North Carolina and serves in the Matthews office. His area of focus is Marriage and Family, this focus is inclusive of every aspect of marriage and family life, i.e., any issue that affects the family relationship such as couple conflict, divorce, stress, depression, finance, and grief. He is also available for children and adolescents during times of transition or life challenges that they may face. Other areas of interest include organizational and leadership coaching. He is the co-author of the Metanoia Process, a servant leadership coaching model for change, and a certified coach through Duke University School of Business in Leadership Coaching. “I enjoy working with churches and other non-profit organizations to create positive change and develop strong servant leadership.” |
