The
Presbyterian Samaritan Counseling Center was established over
30 years ago by several area Presbyterian churches as a resource
for both Presbyterian churches and the community at large.
The
center offers:
- Multi-disciplinary interfaith-based
counseling and psychotherapy (a sliding fee scale is offered based on ability to pay and the Center's current funding resources)
- Educational
programs
- Consultation
- Training
Our mission
is to enable healing, reconciliation, and spiritual growth.
Confidentiality between therapist and client is absolute,
to the extent allowed by law and a concern for safety. The
trust relationship between therapist and client is an important
part of the healing process.
Presbyterian Samaritan Counseling Center is jointly accredited by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the Samaritan Institute. Pastoral Counselors are certified mental health professionals who have had in-depth theological training. AAPC represents and sets standards for over 3,000 Pastoral Counselors and 100 pastoral counseling centers in North America and around the world. It is non-sectarian and respects the spiritual commitments and religious traditions of those who seek assistance without imposing counselor beliefs on the client.
The Samaritan Institute is an umbrella agency for pastoral counseling
centers nationwide. Accreditation by the Samaritan Institute
provides assurance that the highest professional standards
are maintained in all areas of operation, from the physical
plant to the qualifications of the therapists. An interfaith
ministry, the Samaritan ministry has become one of the largest
providers of outpatient counseling in the United States, with
centers located in more than 340 cities across the United
States.
Above
all, PSCC is a safe place and refuge to those in search of
healing of mind, body, spirit, and community. |
