Ministry Development Services (MDS) is a ministry to guide and nurture ministerial candidates, church professionals and individuals through the process of career and life planning. Ministry Development Services provides vocational counseling and assessment for candidates/inquirers, ministers in transition or crisis and church professionals from many different denominations who are reassessing their call, preparing for sabbaticals or retirement, or want to explore options for ministry beyond the local pastorate. In many cases, services are provided in partnership with Committees associated with candidacy/preparation and professional development, but individuals are encouraged to self-refer. 

MDS has found that when church professionals take the time to assess their ministry and refocus, it can be beneficial to assist in making vocational choices that are valuable in their call and can re-inspire ministry. For youth and lay adults who are attempting to discern where God may be calling them, individual career counseling is available as well. MDS provides training workshops in a number of different areas such as conflict resolution, leadership development, boundaries and self care as well as team building staff retreats, training workshops for Stephen Ministers, and other programs for congregations.

• A ministry of vocational counseling and career development for people in the church and community since 1952
• Ecumenical in focus and outreach
